Hayley Allison-Warby – Chair of Governors

I am on the Governing body as my son attended the School and I wanted to give something back to the School. I thoroughly enjoy being a Governor of LCHS and being part of our school community.
 

I am a co-opted Governor and my role is the Chair, previously I sat on the Governing board as a Parent Governor. I work as a mid-day supervisor at a special school and am a full-time mum to 3 boys.

As a parent of children with additional needs I know how important learning is when you have barriers to overcome. As a Governor one of my main interests is the SEN department but I also enjoy my tours around School whereby I get to meet lots of students and Staff. I am in School on a weekly basis so I get a real flavour of School life.

With 30 years of experience in secondary school education in the state sector, I recognise the commitment of the LCHS family to providing a great education for the young people of the local community.

 

As representative of Bishop Grosseteste University and as the Head of Mentoring and Partnerships, it is wonderful to see LCHS dedicated to producing the next generation of outstanding teachers for our youngsters through its work with the BGU ITE Partnership.

I am privileged to serve on the governing body where our role of offering both support and challenge ensures that LCHS is in an excellent position to tackle barriers, provide opportunities and improve life chances for all our young people.

Peter Beighton – Vice Chair of the Finance and property

I live in the local community and know that a good education is pivotal to life chances, personal development and the well-being of individuals and the wider community. 

I am a retired Headteacher and a Foundation Governor representing the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln Cathedral.  It is a privilege to be a governor at LCHS and to have an opportunity to support the work of the Headteacher, Senior Team and all staff and stakeholders involved in securing the very best interests of the young people attending a school with such a proud and cherished history.

Anna Edlin – Joint Vice Chair of Governors & Vice Chair of Curriculum and Standards Committee

I became a Parent Governor in September 2018. I am now a co-opted Governor.  I joined to play a part in ensuring the School continues to work hard to be a fantastic place for all students to learn and develop.  I have two sons studying at LCHS so I have a vested interest but I truly care about the School as a whole and enjoy seeing progress made every day.  As a day job I work in property and have a background in PR and communications

Chris Milnes – Safeguarding Governor

I was a teacher Governor for many years at LCHS and after retiring I wanted to support the School where I taught for 30 years. I represent the Foundation Governors.  I taught at LCHS from 1974 to 2004 as a PE teacher and Head of Year and from 2004-2011 was the Vice Principal at St. George’s Academy in Sleaford responsible for pastoral care.  I have always considered LCHS to be a true Comprehensive School educating and supporting students from many different backgrounds.  I have always considered that every child deserves to fulfil their potential and that is my objective as a member of the Governing Body.

David Gibbons

I am a member of the School governing body representing the Foundation of Christ’s Hospital at Lincoln.  I have been a primary school Headteacher for the past 26 years. I believe that it is vital for governors to challenge and support LCHS to provide the best possible education for all pupils.  LCHS is a school that focusses very closely on the needs of its pupils, families and staff. Through supporting them, listening to them and providing a high-quality learning environment with high expectations the school is central to its local community and provides a beacon of hope and aspiration.

Emma Jubbs - Joint vice Chair of Full Governing Body

I am part of the LCHS governing body as I have over 30 years of experience in both further and higher education. 

 

I am representing the University of Lincoln, and as such look to ensure that the university and the schools’ partnership is embedded at all levels.  My day job is the Director of Marketing and Recruitment at the university.

 

Education is critical to my everyday life. I am passionate about secondary education and ensuring that students regardless of backgrounds and academic ability have the best education they can at the school.  Having been a student at the school myself, and also latterly as a parent the school is very close to my heart and as a governor here, I want to give back and help to ensure that the school is the best it can be.

Leigh Holmes

I am a Parent Governor. I’m a local resident and a trained teacher since 2000. I’ve an interest in all young people’s education and an invested one in my own children’s.  I am able to use these transferable skills to support the school.  As a mother, looking around schools in year 5/6 I found was a daunting experience.  Two years on we have never looked back on choosing LCHS as our first choice! Making the recent decision with our second that much easier. I enjoy listening to music, reading and running.

Steve Holt

I am on the Governing Body to support the advancement of education for individuals whilst they are pupils at LCHS and during further education. I represent The Foundation of Christ’s Hospital at Lincoln which I Chair. I am retired (but busier than ever) and my previous roles have included being Chair, CEO, MD of various financial, charitable and sporting institutions. As an alumnus of LCHS, I care passionately about supporting the children, the Head and his teaching staff team to deliver exemplary learning opportunities as education has, and always will play the major role in shaping society.

 

Nigel Potter

I am serving teacher with more than 20 years’ experience teaching secondary and sixth form students and prior to starting my teaching career, worked for private sector businesses in various roles. As the first member of my family to earn qualifications from my secondary education, I have a passionate belief in the value of education and the opportunities it can offer to all, especially our young people. I currently serve as a Foundation Governor of Christ’s Hospital at Lincoln and represent the Foundation in my role as Governor of the school. I strongly believe that the strength of the relationships between students, families and school staff are the basis of a quality education that benefits the local community the school serves. The long history of the school and passionate desire of its staff to deliver a quality education enables the students of LCHS to pursue their goals and to achieve their aspirations.

Steve Thompson - Chair of Finance and Property Committee

I live in Lincoln and have two daughters at Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School. Education is a huge priority for us all and as Parent Governor I want to ensure that the high expectations we as parents expect – to nurture and bring out the abilities and personalities of our children – are maintained and enhanced.

 

Away from the school, I am a qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience of working with multinational finance and leadership teams; in my current role I am the Group Internal Audit and Risk Director for a large Food Manufacturer.

Mark Edgar - Chair Audit and Risk Committee

I taught at LCHS for 26 years and was Director of Sixth Form for many of them.  Since retiring I have been both a Governor and a Foundation Governor.  I have a particular interest in supporting students with both their school journey and their life afterwards.

 

LCHS has a rich history and I work towards extending this into the future, helping to improve the physical environment and encouraging the excellent teaching that underpins the whole school.
